CHARTER As
Government agency entrusted by the state Government
to plan and develop wood-based industries of the
state parallel with STIDC Ordinance 1973, we hereby
pledge to render an efficient, trustworthy and
amicable services through the following activities:- |

To process
registration application of Timber and Timber-related
companies in accordance with the Sarawak Timber
Industry (Registration) Regulations 1999 within
the specified time frame stated under MS ISO 9001:2000
as follows: |

2.
EXPORT/IMPORT LICENCE OF TIMBER PRODUCTS |
|
|
To process
and issue export/import licence for timber products
under the Customs Act 1967 within one (1) day
for logs and three (3) days for other timber products
after receipt of application. |
|
|
To Provide
Check-Grading Services and Overall Supervision
of the Grading Works to The Timber Industry and
to Issue the Grading Certificate within Seven
Working Days After Receiving The Application. |
|
|
4.
LOG RESERVATION QUOTA FOR FOREST RESOURCE |
|
|
- |
Assessing
of log quota compliance for application of AP to
Export Logs for those affected Licences, within
a period of 48 hours. |

Monitoring
Monthly Log Quota Compliance and subsequently issue
a notice on any shortfall by the 7th Working Day
of the Succeeding Month. |

5.
APPLICATION FOR JPP AND LP |
|
|
To analyze
and give comments on the application for mill
licence either from the Industry Coordination
Committee (ICC) or Malaysian Industrial Development
Authority (MIDA) within 20 working Days after
receipt of Application. |
|
|
To disseminate
information on the development of Sarawak Timber
Industry through publication items such as: |

|

Annual
Report (in January every year) |

PERKASA
Bulletin (every bi-monthly) |

Statistics
Book (in May annually) |
|
|
To Provide
and Coordinate Timber Training Courses to The
Timber Industry and Interested Individuals and
Achieve 80% of the Scheduled Training Programmes. |

8.
PERMIT FOR FOREIGN WORKERS |
|
|

To Process
Application Permit For Foreign Workers Under Section
119, Labour Ordinance For The Timber IndustryFor
Consideration of The Technical Committee Within
3 Weeks after The Application is Received. |

To Process
Applications For Expatriate Posts For The Timber
Industry For Consideration of The State Coordination
For Bintulu Project Sub Committee within 3 Weeks
of the Application Received. |

Provide
feedback to trade enquirers related to timber
and timber products within three (3) working days
from the date received through correspondence
or e-mail. |

10.
“SUSTAINABLE FOREST MANAGEMENT STATEMENT”
CERTIFIATE |
|
|
To issue
“Sustainable Forest Management Statement”
Certificate within six (6) working days from the
date of application received. |
|
|
To pay
suppliers not later than 30 Working Days after
Invoices received by the Finance and Investment
Division. |
|
|
12.
FURNITURE ORDER UNDER THE STATE GOVERNMENT CONTRACT |
|
|
Supply
and install of furniture for Government Contracts
under the vendor Development Programme within
8 weeks from the date of receipt order through
Local Purchase Order, Service Order and Warrant
from Public Works Department and other government
agencies. |
|
|
13.
PROCESSING CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT FROM VENDOR |
|
|
Processing
claims from vendor/entrepreneur regarding payment
of contract works within 3 weeks from the date
of receipt of completed invoices and certified
Delivery Order. |
|
|
|
